Why We Built Cleva
There is a quiet pressure that lives in Nigerian homes when school is in session. It is the pressure a parent feels at 9pm, watching their child struggle over a maths problem they cannot help with — not because they do not care, but because JSS2 simultaneous equations were a long time ago. It is the anxiety of WAEC season, when everything feels like it is riding on one set of exams. It is the reality of knowing your child needs more one-on-one attention than any single teacher with forty students in a classroom can possibly give. Nigerian parents want the best for their children. That has never been the question. The question has always been: how do you bridge the gap between what school provides and what your child actually needs? That gap is what Cleva Learning was built to close.

We believe every Nigerian child — regardless of where they live, what school they attend, or what their parents do for a living — deserves access to patient, intelligent, curriculum-aligned learning support. Not once a week. Not when a tutor is available. Always.
Who Cleva Is For
Cleva is for Nigerian families, wherever they are in the world. For the parent in Lagos whose child attends a good school but comes home with questions no one has time to answer. For the family in the diaspora — in the UK, Germany, the US, Canada — raising children who are sitting Nigerian exams from abroad and need curriculum-specific support they cannot get locally. For the mother working long hours who cannot always be at the homework table, but wants to know her child has someone reliable to turn to.
Meet Nova
At the heart of Cleva is Nova — an AI tutor built specifically for the Nigerian curriculum. Nova covers every subject from Primary 1 through SS3, aligned to NERDC standards and WAEC and NECO exam requirements. Nova explains things patiently, in language your child actually understands — by chat or by voice, however many times it takes. Nova does not replace teachers. Nova does what teachers simply do not have the time to do: sit with your child, one on one, for as long as they need.
